SF MOMA - Julie Mehretu's commissioned paintings for SF MOMA 2017

mark-making. i'm out of time. scale is impressive. SFMOMA commissioned J. Mehretu two large paintings. This is what media had said back in Sep. 2017: "Julie Mehretu’s diptych HOWL, eon (I, II) (2017), which debuted at SFMOMA on September 2, is enormous. Each canvas is 27 feet high and 32 feet wide—in other words, larger than Leonardo’s Last Supper, or Raphael’s The School of Athens. Together, they are bigger even than Michelangelo’s The Last Judgment."


I saw the paintings, we took photos. It took me 3 years to finally publish this blog... I'm not relating to the work effectively enough, I think.
